MCE membrane filters are hydrophilic membrane filters manufactured from a carefully formulated cellulose-based material. The membrane surface is smooth and homogeneous, resulting in a consistent pore structure and reliable filtration performance. This makes MCE membranes particularly suitable for applications requiring efficient and reproducible filtration of aqueous solutions.

These membrane filters are commonly used in biological and environmental applications, including microbiological analysis, particle removal, and sample clarification. Thanks to their high flow rate, samples can be processed quickly without compromising filtration accuracy or consistency.

MCE membranes are suitable for use within a pH range of 4 to 8 and are designed for the filtration of water and water-based solvents. The membranes are biologically inert, ensuring they do not interfere with sample composition. They are not resistant to strong acids, strong alkalis, or most organic solvents.

Van Borselen Filters supplies MCE membrane filters in various diameters and pore sizes to meet a wide range of laboratory and analytical requirements. The membranes are available in white or black, with or without a gridded surface, and are supplied in non-sterile condition.

Typical applications include:

  • Filtration of aqueous and water-based solutions
  • Particle removal and sample clarification
  • Microbiological and analytical testing
  • Biological and environmental monitoring
