Description
Hydrophilic PTFE syringe filters are membrane-based filters developed for demanding laboratory and analytical filtration applications. Thanks to the modified hydrophilic PTFE membrane, these filters combine exceptional chemical resistance with ease of use when filtering aqueous samples, eliminating the need for alcohol pre-wetting.
These syringe filters are suitable for a wide range of applications, including the filtration of water-based solutions, aggressive organic solvents and liquids with very high or very low pH values. The broad chemical compatibility of PTFE makes these filters a reliable choice when other membrane materials may be limited by solvent compatibility or chemical attack.
Hydrophilic PTFE syringe filters are commonly used for water-miscible organic solvents, disinfectant filtration and samples requiring minimal interaction with the filter membrane. The low extractables profile and low protein binding help preserve sample integrity during filtration, making them suitable for sensitive analytical workflows.
The filter housing is manufactured from polypropylene, providing additional chemical resistance and mechanical strength under elevated operating pressures. A Female Luer Lock inlet combined with a Male Luer Slip outlet ensures a secure, leak-tight connection to standard laboratory syringes and filtration setups.
Van Borselen Filters offers hydrophilic PTFE syringe filters in 13 mm, 25 mm and 33 mm diameters, with pore sizes ranging from 0.1 µm to 5.0 µm. The filters are supplied non-sterile and are intended for single-use filtration in routine and specialized laboratory environments.
