Description
Hydrophobic PTFE membrane filters are designed for reliable filtration of chemically aggressive liquids and gases where maximum chemical compatibility and stability are required. Due to the naturally hydrophobic and inert PTFE membrane, these filters are particularly suitable for applications involving strong acids, alkalis, organic solvents and non-polar media.
The PTFE membrane offers an exceptionally wide chemical compatibility (pH 1–14) and excellent thermal resistance up to 140 °C, ensuring consistent performance under demanding process conditions. Because of their hydrophobic nature, PTFE membranes are also widely used for gas filtration and air venting applications, where moisture repellence is essential.
Why choose hydrophobic PTFE membrane filters?
Hydrophobic PTFE membranes combine chemical resistance, biological inertness and high mechanical stability. Unlike hydrophilic membranes, PTFE does not absorb water, making it the preferred choice for non-polar liquids and gas streams. This results in reliable particle retention, low extractables and long service life, even in highly corrosive environments.
