Whey filtration
In whey filtration, the solid curd particles are separated from the liquid whey. The curd consists of proteins that are further processed into cheese. The remaining whey contains water, lactose, and minerals, and can be further utilized in food products or animal feed. Effective filtration ensures an efficient separation and higher yield.

Filtration for cheese starter cultures
For the sterile filtration of (starter culture) air and gases, Van Borselen Filters offers two effective combinations:
BorsoAir-PSRF + BorsoComp filter housing
Sterile depth filter with borosilicate fibers (0.2 μm, 99.99998% efficiency). Ideal for air and starter culture applications. Also suitable for high temperatures.
BorsoPTFE-M + BorsoComp filter housing
Hydrophobic PTFE membrane filter for the sterile filtration of moist air or gases.

Filtration of process air
Filtration of process air is the removal of particles, moisture, and microorganisms from air that is directly used in production processes.
High Flow filters, pleated filter cartridges, or meltblown filter cartridges
Process water filtration
For process water in the cheese industry, filters can be installed upstream of the RO membranes. Since RO membranes should be protected for as long as possible, this can be achieved by using High Flow filters, pleated filter cartridges, or meltblown filter cartridges.
